4/11/05 - Athens,GA; Tasty World
woke up today a little tired. so i went for a long walk through the streets of savannah and got some coffee at a local joint. cleared my head a bit and then headed off to athens. on the way there a guy pulled a dick move and pretty much t-bone the car 2 cars in front of us and ran him off the road through a construction site sign. absolutley demolished his car and ripped the side of the car he hit ... apart. lucky no one was hurt badly and so we moved on once the scene was stable. the show was fun. not a great turn out, but a rainy tuesday in athens will be like that. i rocked out and played super well i thought. the new tune" blue "is becoming my favorite. it's a painful tune but i love singing it. my last tune of the night i brought up my buddy luke powell (of" pappa funk" fame) on saxophone. my man luke TORE it up. he was all soul and it rocked!!! liquid sun who played after me also layed it down. but one of the highlights of the night was a band in the downstairs bar from phillipsburg,mo named "the wilders". they played a great style of gritty honky tonk ... acoustic. all wrapped around a big ole condenser mic. truly awesome stuff.
set: escape, melee, deep 'tis true, it must be you, balance, not at all, torch, and you, downstream, blue, the same, miner's creek*
* - w/ luke powell on saxophone
